Dish TV, Videocon D2H to merge as single DTH company by October

Zee team direct-to-house DTH service supply Dish TV needs to accomplish the combination with Videocon Group’s DTH supply Videocon d2h by October this year after getting required regulatory approvals.

The combined organisation might have a customer base of 27.2 trillion, making the biggest DTH service supplier in the market.

“We need to obtain approvals from systems such as theCompetition Commission of India, National Company Law Tribunal and stock exchanges. After obtaining clearances, the combination is likely to be finished by October this season,” Dish TV boss Arun Kapoor told PTI.

The combined organisation is likely to be renamed as Dish TV Videocon Ltd. the sum total income of Videocon d2h and Dish TV was Rs. 5,915.8 crore on the pro forma basis for that financial ended.

From leading 100 towns, around 35 percent are at the moment, out of Dish TV’s 15.5 million customer base and also the relaxation 65 percent are from rural areas and small cities.

“We expect that 70 percent of the brand new contacts for that next 2 yrs might originate from these residing in small cities and rural areas,” he explained putting that “it could be mainly due to execution of Digital Addressable Program (DAS) In-Phase III and IV“.

Also, stockholders of Vd2h ADRs will get their new shares in the form of GDRs, unless they elect to receive and hold new shares directly.
