Cabletime Enhances Interactive IPTV and signage

Cabletime’s attention to ISE 2017 was on interactive IPTV and digital signage, with the introduction of a host of new features and updates from its MediaStar media players, set-top boxes and chassis products; Plus the demonstrations of the new content creation software, Creator, that work seamlessly with MediaStar Media Player.

Cabletime has introduced several important hardware products that broaden the scope of the application for MediaStar. It was a new 1U rack chassis with a single or dual blade capacity, each with its own power supply. In addition, there is now a standalone chassis for customers requiring only one blade in a portable format and an optional dual redundant PSU for the MediaStar 9 slot 770 chassis (photo). This can be adapted for existing customers.

Other new hardware developments included a Re-Caster IP blade, which converts Multi-cast into Unicast and vice versa; And a new IP Multi Mux blade, which allows you to receive content in TS IP format rather than the more common terrestrial or sat Mux formats, and then reassign selected IP streams over a corporate network.

The MediaStar 782 IPTV and the Media Player and the Digital Media Decoder 780 are now available with new remote controls including wireless keyboards and mouse, one with an accelerometer allowing users to point and use as an interactive wand.

The Media Player has been implemented in conjunction with Cabletime’s new Digital Signature Creator content creation software and the tools that enable it to provide rich HTML support, live IPTV streams and video playback. Visitors to the booth saw interactive HTML pages that showed the full capacity of the 782 Media Player, controlled using the new remote wand controls. The DCC (Dynamic Content Creation), which also demonstrated on the Cabletime booth, allows web clips and live RSS feeds to be inserted into the digital signage pages created in the new software.

The MediaStar range provides TV/AV and multi media distribution products primarily for medium and large businesses, requiring tried and true, proven and proven solutions for live television, corporate communications, multicasts, training and signalling digital.
